From the very beginning, LOXIN has been involved in important drilling projects for the Aeronautic sector. Wing Box (Front and Rear Spars, Ribs, Stringers), Movables (Elevator, Rudder), and Fuselage (Skin panels and Stringers Assembly). LOXIN has paid much attention to developping the technology necessary to assure the highest tolerances on the countersinkings. To achieve this, two main factors are essential:

To enlarge the acces to most complex projects, beyond drilling, LOXIN has paid much attention to developping Automatic End Effectors that allow fast and automatic drilling of various types of compound layers (Composite, Aluminium, Titanium, etc.). These processes have a number of characteristics in which the combination of "Tricept" and "Automatic End Effectors" provide optimum solutions. These charateristics are:
* Several operations to be made at the same point (drilling, countersinking, mastic sealant, measurement, riveting, etc.)
* Short execution time of the sub-processes
This is why the Tricept allows a fast and accurate positioning of the End Effector, placing each one of the effectors over the drilling hole. In these local movements around the drilling point there are not necessary movements of the structural main parts of the machine (rams, columns, tables) which never can be as agil and fast as the Tricept positioning.
This Technology is a very promissing developing area for Tricept integration on Gantry Type LOXIN machines. The special caracteristics of the Tricept allows high accuracy positioning and is able (at the same time) to withstand the strong forces necessary in all the F.S.W. processes.
