The LOXIN “Mobile Column ” machines integrate the Parallel Kinematic Module ”Tricept” as its main component. The “Tricept” is a 5 axes interpolating module that provides a high degree of flexibility and accessibility to the work part. It also has an excellent dynamic response in acceleration and speed in all the 5 axes.
The high accuracy of this “Mobile Column” series is conferred by the “Tricept” module (see specific “Tricept” catalogue) together with a high quality mechanical components for the three (3) orthogonal axes of the “Column”.
The “Tricept” Gimbal-support is located vertically in a massive structure, in order to withstand the static and dynamic requirements produced during the production processes.
The “column” structure is made on strongly ribbed stabilised steel structures. This design confers maximum stiffness and vibration absorption with a minimum weight. This structure offers the following advantages:
The column builts in on the lower side preloaded roller shoes for a smooth translation of the column along the hardened and ground guides.

This series incorporates a high quality kinematic chain to provide a very smooth and accurate movement of the “column” in any of its operating conditions. It is based on a largely dimensioned “Double Pinion and Rack” device on the base of the column joined to the hardened and ground guides on the beds.
The Positioning System is made by a Linear Scale system. This design guarantees the absolute orthogonality of the “column”cross axis in relation to the longitudinal guiding of the machine.
The “Tricept” platform support is placed on the Vertical saddle. It is placed on the Column that moves longitudinally along two (2) support beads.
The Column may have (optionally) an intermediate saddle that provides the Column Cross movement. This feature is particularly interesting in those cases in which the work part has depth areas to be machined. In this way, the excellent Tricept accessibility is increased till the maximum with a small general machine structure.
These two axes, Vertical and Cross use systems composed of two (2) ball screws at each side of the saddle, each one fitted with a digital synchronous servomotor controlled by the machine CNC.
The Vertical system incorporates a hydraulic counterbalance system consisting on two (2) hydraulic cylinders linked to two (2) gas deposits placed on the top of the Column.
The high flexibility of the Module and its spherical head (4 & 5th axes) allows excellent accessibility to the most hidden areas at very high speeds.
The interpolation of the linear actuators allows excellent dynamic features in boring and orbital operations. In these cases, combined movements between heavy structural parts of the machine (Columns, Rams, etc.) are not required.
